1. Explain why homeostasis is important to your body's functioning.
Homeostasis is the internal stability of your body. It has the function of maintaining an appropriate body temperature. Homeostasis helps maintain our body equilibrium if we do not have an appropriate internal stability in our body we can get psychological and psychomatic disorders.
2. Give three examples of ways your skin helps maintain homeostasis in your body.
One way that your skin helps maintains homeostasis in our body is by providing a physical barrier against dirt and microorganisms entering your body. Another way is by helping protect the body on cold days and to moderate internal organs against physical damage. Also by helping maintain homeostasis by reacting to such incentive as small changes in body temperature and water content.
3. Explain one way that your body maintains a constant temperature while outside on a cold day.
By trembling because it causes the quick tightening of skeletal muscles. The muscles discharge heat that helps uphold your body temperature on a cold day.
Eli, I agree with all of your responses. It was interesting to know what trembling reaction causes in our body, as I idnt put that part of the answer in my response.=)
ReplyDeleteI thought your answer to question number three was brilliant! I had some problems understanding this concept, but after reading your post I was able to understand fully what shivering is for: produce heat in order to maintain a stable body temperature at 37 degrees Celsius.
