Homeostasis is very important for our body to be able to function properly, because it is what stabilize it by regulating the temperature. Only when ones body is in "steady state" the organs and tissues of the body are able to function properly.
2. Give three examples of ways your skin helps maintain homeostasis in your body.
1) When your body is exposed to a high temperature you sweat, this causes evaporate cooling that regulates your temperature and does not allow your body to overheat.
2)When you are exposed to a cold environment and your body shivers, this muscular contraction release heat and help keep an internal warm body temperature.
3) The integumentary system provides a physical barrier for your body against the external environment.
3) The integumentary system provides a physical barrier for your body against the external environment.
3. Explain one way that your body maintains a constant temperature while outside on a cold day.
As explained in the previous question, when you are exposed to a cold temperature, you unvolunatrily start shivering. This contraction of the skeletal muscles release heat that warms your body internally.
