Health blog!

Welcome students to our class blog. We will be using this space for class discussions to examine, evaluate, and share knowledge. Discussions provide opportunities for students to think critically on the topics we will be learning about in Health class. Concepts, assignments, and readings will be used as the basis for our discussions to create a positive learning community in which students are willing to share their ideas and to accept constructive criticism from their peers.

chapter 27.3

1. Explain why homeostasis is important to our body's functioning.
Homeostasis is important to our body's functioning because it is what makes us have internal and external stability of our body. Tissues can only survive within a range of conditions and homeostasis is what helps the tissues stay on that conditions. Homeostasis makes our body have a certain temperature all the time.
2. Give three examples of ways your skin helps mantain homeostasis in your body.
One example of a way that skin helps mantain homeostasis in our body is the way skin creates a physical barrier to prevent dirt and microorganism to enter the body. An other example is how skin protects our body from the cold. Finally, a last example is when skin responds to body temperature and water content.
3. Explain one way that your body mantains a constant temperature while outside in a cold day.
In a cold day, our body mantains a constant temperature by shivering. Shivering is produced by the contraction of skeletal muscles. This contractions release heat that helps our body to mantain the constant temperature in a cold day.
